Owner/Head Coach

Stephanie is not only the owner of The Flip Zone but is the head coach of the competitive optional gymnastic team.  She was a successful college gymnast at Ball State University and has extensive experience coaching gymnastics at the club and high school levels.  Her gymnastics career spans nearly 34 years. Aside form being a gymnast, she has served the sport as a coach, judge, meet director, volunteer and clinician.  She has a passion for helping children achieve their potential and makes sure they have fun along the way.  Stephanie is the very proud mother of her 10 year old son, Spencer, and her 8 year old daughter, Shaylee,  who is a member of The Flip Zone competitive team.  When not at the gym (which isn't often), Stephanie is involved with The Plainfield Rotary Club or Golfing!

Stephanie is a graduate of Ball State University where she was a four year varsity letterman and scholarship recipient for Gymnastics.  She received a B.S. in Exercise Science and minored in Counseling Psychology.  During her high school and collegiate gymnastics career, she set and broke school records and was a two- time IHSAA State Champion.  In November 2009, Stephanie was inducted into Elkhart County Sports Hall of Fame.   Strout has coached in the Midwest over the past 20 years and founded The Flip Zone in January 2006.  Being involved in gymnastics since the age of 9, as a gymnast, judge, coach, and parent of a gymnast, Stephanie has been able to develop a unique training system for her athletes in all programs at The Flip Zone.

Paula has been at The Flip Zone for the last 3 years of her 7 year coaching career.  Paula attended Ohio University and has a degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Physiology with a minor in Psychology.  Paula was a state and regional ranked level 10 and a state ranked High School gymnast.  Paula also has a National Certification and Indiana license in Athletic Training, as well as, Safety, AFD, and CPR Certifications.

April has been coaching at The Flip Zone since 2006.  She has 14 years of experience in gymnastics and was a State and Regional ranked Level 9 gymnast.  April was also a competitive diver at Ben Davis High School and at Ball State University.  She graduated from Ball State University  in 1999 with a degree in Exercise Science/Wellness and minors in Marketing and Sociology.  She is aso USAG Safety Certified and a USAG Professional Member.

Shelly has been coaching gymnastics since 2002 and was also a competitive gymnast.  She has a Biology and Psychology Degree from Purdue University. Shelly is married to Dominic and has 3 children.  Shelly is also the Director for Plainfield Optimist Cheerleading.

Christina has been passionate fan of gymnastics since starting in YMCA gymnastics programs as a youth. Christina competed in JV and Varsity Cheerleading in High School. Christina is a current Indiana Level 7/8 Gymnastic Judge. Christina is a mom of Level Five gymnast, Samantha and Level Seven Gymnast, Tara and three other children. Her hobbies include anything Gymnastics.....Reading, Gardening and Sailing.

 Dawn has over 15 years of coaching and judging experience.  She is currently rated as a National judge and judges Level 10, Elite and NCAA competitions.

 Dawn is married to Bill and they have three children.

 Brook is our Level 3 & 4 assistant team coach.  She was a competitive gymnast in Muncie, In for both a private club and her high school.  Brook is also a Rec class teacher at The Flip zone.

 Jessica is a former level 10 Tumbling and Trampoline competitive gymnast.  She is the head coach of The TNT Team and also coaches the recreational classes at The Flip Zone.

•  Tae Kwon Do Chief Instructor

Coach Jason has been involved with the martial arts since the early 1980's.  From his first lessons with his own father, to the lessons he received from one of the highest Chinese grandmasters, his love for learning, and especially teaching, continues.  Aikido, Boxing, Goju-Ryu, Hapkido, Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Shotokan, Tae Kwon-Do, Uechi-Ryu, Wushu, and Wrestling are some of the arts Coach Jason has studied over the years, with his highest and current rank being a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon-Do.  Coach Jason is also a independent faacilitatior for the Becoming a Love and Logic Parent program, and incorporates important character values and life lessons into each class.

Clint has been teaching Tae Kwon Do at The Flip Zone for 1 year and has been studying Martial Arts since college.  He has experience in Tae Kwon Do and Aikido.  Clint has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Michigan Technological University.  He is married to Teri and has two children, Patrick and Elena.

Jackie has been coaching cheerleading and gymnastics since 2009.  She attends USI and is majoring in Spanish and Health Administration.  Jackie has been involved in Cheerleading since grade school and earned 2nd place at Nationals as a College Cheerleader.
